Capital Braces For Weekend Showers As IMD Issues Yellow Alert Until June 24 – Check Forecast News24 –


Delhi Weather Update: Delhi is going to experience rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms throughout the weekend. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for rain, thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds until June 24. There has been a noticeable change in Delhi’s weather due to several weather systems over northern India. An upper air cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan and east-west trough from south Punjab to south Assam have influenced the weather pattern over Delhi-NCR.

There has been a significant drop in maximum temperatures, while strong winds and cloudy skies have provided relief from the scorching heat. The maximum temperatures are currently in the range of 35-36°C.

Check Forecast For Friday, June 20

For Friday, June 20, the IMD has predicted a rainy day and issued a yellow alert. The sky will remain cloudy with maximum temperature at 36°C. Light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50kmph) is expected during evening. During night – thunderstorm accompanied by lightning, and moderate to heavy rainfall is expected.

Delhi residents are going to experience extended relief, as the rainfall will continue throughout the weekend. Here’s detailed weather forecast for the upcoming days.

June 21: The maximum temperature will remain at 37°C, with rain and thunderstorm predicted for the day. Rain will continue to lash the capital during morning, forenoon and evening. A yellow alert has been issued by the IMD.

June 22: Rain or Thundershowers is expected. The maximum temperature will remain at 38°C. Partly cloudy sky and gusty winds are predicted. A yellow alert for light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm has been issued.

Monsoon Update

According to the IMD, the Northern Limit of the Southwest Monsoon continues to extend through Barmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Sonbhadra, Ballia, and up to 30.5°N/81.5°E.

It stated that conditions remain favourable for the further advancement of the Southwest Monsoon into several parts of North India over the next 2-3 days. Areas expected to witness monsoon progression include the remaining parts of North Arabian Sea, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Moreover, conditions are also becoming favourable for the monsoon to move into parts of Punjab and Haryana within the next 3 days.
