UP CM Yogi Flags Off 91.35 Km Route- A Connect That Slashes Travel Time And Boosts Infrastructure News24 –

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday inaugurated the 91.35 km Gorakhpur Link Expressway, a major step towards strengthening road connectivity in the state. The expressway starts from Jaitpur (NH-27) in Gorakhpur and goes up to Salarpur in Azamgarh, where it joins the Purvanchal Expressway. The route passes through four districts—Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, and Azamgarh. The four-lane fully access-controlled road is designed for future expansion to six lanes.

The entire expressway cost around Rs 7,283.28 crore, including land acquisition. The construction was divided into two parts: Jaitpur to Phulwaria (48.317 km) was taken up by APCO Infratech Pvt Ltd, and Phulwaria to Salarpur (43.035 km) by Dilip Buildcon Ltd.

Benefits From The Project:

The construction of this expressway will reduce the travel time from Gorakhpur to areas located southward, such as Uruwa, Dhuriapar, Khajni, and Belghat. While earlier it used to take about an hour to reach Uruwa from Gorakhpur, now the same distance can be covered in 20 to 25 minutes. Additionally, this expressway will also make the journey between Gorakhpur and Lucknow faster and more convenient. Due to the connection with the Purvanchal Expressway and access-control design, this journey can now be completed in about three and a half hours. Fast and safe connectivity will also be available to Delhi and Agra.

Toll rates:
Currently, the government has not announced the toll fee, but it is likely to be based on rates similar to those of the Purvanchal Expressway.
