UPEIDA Bans Land Deals Along Proposed Noida-Ganga Expressway Route To Fast-Track Airport Connectivity And Industrial Growth News24 –

In a major decision to ensure faster infrastructure development around the Noida International Airport, the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Corridor Development Authority (UPEIDA) has completely banned the sale and purchase of land along the route of the proposed 74.3 km long expressway. The expressway will connect the airport to the Ganga Expressway as well as the Yamuna Expressway, thereby connecting three major transport projects of the state. Following the UPEIDA directive, officials have made it clear that strict action will be taken against violations of the order.

The Ganga Expressway, a Rs 4,000 crore project, will connect Meerut to Prayagraj. The new link expressway will start from Syana area of Bulandshahr and end near the Film City in Sector-21 located near the Yamuna Expressway. The route is considered to be important in strengthening passenger and logistics connectivity in western UP.

Following the authority’s order, administrative officials of Noida and Bulandshahr are conducting surveys to identify notified land and acquire or take control of it.

Villages To Be Affected Due To Change In Route

Under the new plan, the width of the expressway has been fixed at 120 meters and the route has been changed to save the already settled areas of Yamuna City. Now this expressway will pass through 56 villages, of which 8 villages are in Noida and 48 villages are in Bulandshahr district. Major villages include Mahndipur Bangar, Bhaiyapur Brahmanan, Rabupura, Myana (Noida), and Amanullahpur, Kapna, Bhagwanpur (Khurja tehsil). Many panchayats of Syana and Shikarpur tehsils will also come on this route.

Industrial development and connectivity to the airport will improve
YEIDA officials have described this project as the main basis of regional industrial and economic development. They say that this expressway will facilitate cargo transportation from Noida Airport to industrial areas of Yamuna City (such as Sector 28, 29, 32 and 33). A senior official said that this will improve both connectivity and passenger travel between Delhi, Agra, Mumbai and Prayagraj, as well as strengthen the logistics network.

Along with this, plans are also underway to connect this expressway to NH-34, although a detailed plan is yet to be prepared. This major initiative to strengthen the infrastructure in the state is similar to other recent road projects, such as the recently added 66-km section on the Delhi-Jaipur route, which reduced travel time by an hour and affected 56 villages.
