1 Dead, 14 Injured As Truck Carrying Kanwariyas Overturns In Tehri Garhwal News24 –


Uttarakhand: A truck full of Kanwariyas went out of control and overturned on the road near Jajal, Tachla under Thana Narendra Nagar in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand on Wednesday. The vehicle was going from Rishikesh to Chamba and was carrying about 15 to 17 Kanwar pilgrims. One person is reported to be dead, while 14 others have sustained injuries.
Upon receiving the information, the local police, administration and SDRF team immediately reached the spot and a rescue operation was launched. The injured have been sent to Fakot Primary Health Center for treatment. According to the SDRF, seriously injured have been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh and Narendra Nagar Hospital.

The statement by SDRF read as: “On receiving the information of the accident, the local police, administration and SDRF team immediately reached the spot and a rescue operation was launched. About 15 to 17 Kanwar pilgrims were in the vehicle. The injured have been sent to Fakot Primary Health Center for first aid, where they are being treated. Some seriously injured have been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh and Narendra Nagar Hospital.”

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed grief over the incident and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote on X, “Sad news has been received about a truck accident near Jajal Fakot on the Rishikesh-Gangotri Highway. I pray to God for the peace of the souls of those who lost their lives in the accident and for the speedy recovery of the injured. The district administration has been directed to provide all possible treatment to the injured.
