Do Actors Have To Pay For Their Hollywood Walk Of Fame?

According to People, 250 USD is required to submit an application for Hollywood Walk Of Fame and the sponsorship fee of 75000 USD is also needed. The fee pays for making, installing and maintaining the star.

The Rules Required To Get The Star:

Anyone can nominate a celebrity to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but there are many rules they need to follow. The nominee must have longevity in the field of entertainment, which means they are required to have five or more years of experience in the industry and should have won awards or nominations.

The celebrity should also give their consent to receive this honour. They should have done philanthropic work as well.

Meanwhile, in the case of nominating stars posthumously, the person has to wait for two years after a celebrity’s death to nominate them for a star.

A celebrity also cannot choose where the star will be located. But they do get to choose who will speak on their behalf at the ceremony. Even though it is very rare, a celebrity can get more than one star.

This year, apart from Deepika, many actors from around the world have been named in the list released by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, including Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, and Stanley Tucci. Deepika will receive this honour in 2026.
