Mawra Hocane And Other Pakistani Artists’ Instagram Banned In India Again Within 24 Hours Of Reappearing

Within the 24 hours after the Instagram pages of some Pakistani artists became visible in India, they have been banned once again. For the unversed, the Instagram accounts of several stars from Pakistan were blocked in India post Operation Sindoor. Mawra Hocane and Saba Qamar were actors from the neighbouring country, whose accounts were visible again.

After searching for Mawra, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan or Saba Qamar’s accounts again in India, they have been banned again. The note on Instagram read, “Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this comment.”

Both Mawra and Saba have worked in successful Bollywood projects. Mawra made her Bollywood debut with 2016 film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ and the movie was re-released in India again due to public demand. Meanwhile, Saba also made an impressive debut in Bollywood in 2017 with the movie ‘Hindi Medium’.

Amid the tensions between India and Pakistan, Diljit Dosanjh’s movie ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ has been involved in the controversy for featuring Pakistani star Hania Aamir. The makers have decided not to release the film in India but to release it overseas. Diljit and the makers of Sardaar Ji 3 have been facing massive backlash online for deciding to cast Hania and releasing the film despite the tensions between both the countries.

Earlier, Diljit also reacted to the backlash caused due to Hania Aamir’s casting. He told BBC Asian Network, “Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bohut saari badi cheezein humare haath mein nahi hain. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India mein toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bohut paisa laga hua hain aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi.”

“They know there will be a loss because you’re removing an entire territory. Even when I signed the film, everything was fine. Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them,” he added.
