Noida International Airport Update: There is a major update regarding the Noida International Airport. The much-awaited airport, located in Jewar, is expected to commence operations by September 2025. Although it has missed several deadlines in the past, the latest update from the CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) suggests a positive outlook for its launch.
YEIDA’s CEO, Dr. Arun Vir Singh in conversation with CNC 24, offered exclusive insights into the Noida International Airport’s operation and other developmental projects. He stated that the airport will be linked by the Yamuna Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, and Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Moreover, a railway line will connect it to national corridors, which is also Indian Railways’ first direct involvement in an airport-linked rail project. He indicated that the airport is likely to be inaugurated in September of this year.
Singh further added that how Jewar Airport’s construction has led to the infrastructure growth and development in the region. He mentioned that the airport is driving up the residential demand. People are showing strong interest in YEIDA’s plot schemes and group housing projects. Furthermore, the projects like Multi-Modal Logistics Park, the upcoming Global Film City, Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0), and Semiconductor Park are drawing significant investment and accelerating industrial and commercial growth.
He said, “With the airport as a catalyst, YEIDA’s vision is turning the Jewar region into a future-ready hub for aviation, investment, and smart growth.”
About Noida International Update
The construction work of Noida International Airport is in its final stage. The inauguration of this airport is set to ease the travel experience of people and provide convenience in air travel.
The airport will cater to residents of Noida, Greater Noida, adjoining areas, and even Delhi. Once operational, the Noida International Airport is expected to boost tourism, trade, and commerce in the region. It will offer an alternative to Delhi’s IGI Airport, allowing passengers to board international flights directly from Noida.
The project was announced in 2021 and is constructed in Jewar of Gautam Buddha Nagar district. The first phase of the airport will feature one runway and one terminal, with the capacity to handle traffic of 12 million passengers annually. Upon completion of all four development phases, the airport will be able to cater to 70 million passengers per year.
