Rava is considered one of the best sources for fiber. It’s perfect for digestion and helps promote a healthy gut. Suji (rava) cake is a popular Indian dessert because it is packed with nutrients and carbohydrates. It also helps maintain your sugar levels by controlling cravings. Whether for a morning breakfast or an evening snack, you can enjoy it anytime, anywhere. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to making suji (rava) cake.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Yogurt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup Suji (rava/semolina)
- 1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar
- Nuts or raisins for topping
- 1/2 cup of oil or melted Butter
- A pinch of Salt
- 3/4 cup of Sugar
Step By Step Guide
Mix The Dry Ingredients
First, take a medium size bowl and mix the suji and yogurt. Combine well. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes so the rava softens.
Mix In Wet Ingredients
Take another bowl and add oil (or melted butter), sugar, and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Now stir everything together to form a smooth batter.
Mix In Baking Soda And Vinegar
Following on to the next step, take a small cup and combine lemon juice (or vinegar) and baking soda to activate it. Then quickly mix the ingredient to the batter and gently fold it in.
Grease The Baking Pan And Bake
Now take a pan and grease it with a little oil or butter. Pour in the batter and sprinkle raisins or nuts on top if you like. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Serve
Take it out from the oven and let it cool. It’s now ready to serve. Enjoy the delicious Suji (rava) cake.
