Who Is Nikita Luther? Meet India’s Top Poker Star And Co-Winner Of The Traitors


Karan Johar’s high stakes reality show The Traitors has finally got its two winners Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther. In the final episode, Uorfi and Nikita voted out Sudhanshu Pandey, who was actually innocent, along with the two traitors, Harsh Gujral and Purav Jha. As the last two remaining players, Uorfi and Nikita won the game and split the prize money of Rs 70 lakhs.

But who is Nikita Luther?

Nikita Luther is considered to be India’s most successful female poker player. In 2018, she made history by winning a bracelet at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) becoming the first Indian woman to achieve this feat. She is currently the COO of Poker Sports League and India’s ‘Super Bowl of Poker’ championship and also trains new players.

Nikita was born into an army family and was raised in Delhi. She did her schooling from Sanskrit School and graduated from Delhi University. Her passion for poker began during college and eventually turned into a full time career. She won her first poker title in Goa in 2015, and became the first female player to win the Macau Poker Cup Team Event in 2017.

What is Nikita’s net worth?

According to a DNA report, Nikita Luther’s net worth is around Rs 5 to Rs 7 crores most of which comes from poker. She has earned around Rs 4–5 crores through live tournaments. Her popularity has increased tremendously after winning The Traitors, and she is constantly receiving congratulations on social media.

The top 5 contestants who made it to the grand finale were Uorfi, Nikita, Sudhanshu, Purav, and Harsh. A key moment happened when Purav was discussing his next move with Harsh in the billiard room, and Uorfi overheard them from outside. In the final round of suspicion, Uorfi said she believed Purav was the traitor, which led to his elimination.

After that, Uorfi and Nikita trusted each other and worked together to vote out the remaining traitors. In the end, both women were the last ones left and were declared the winners.

The Traitors is available to watch on Prime Video. A second season of the show was announced by the makers a few days ago.
