IMD Weather LIVE Updates: Heavy rain continued to wreak havoc in several parts of the country. At least 43 were killed in Himachal Pradesh due to rain-related incidents. Cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides affected daily life, leading to significant disruptions. Amidst this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in multiple states, including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

Several parts reported waterlogging and significant traffic disruptions on Friday (July 4, 2025) as monsoon set its foot. As the sultry weather caused discomfort to many, a yellow alert has been issued for rain over Delhi for the next two days. Moreover, an alert has been sounded against torrential rains over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh during 5th-10th July; Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha during 5th-7th; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during 07th-9th; Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 6th July.

The showers, which were earlier welcomed by millions of residents, soon became the cause of their discomfort. The Met Department said that the southwest monsoon will remain active over the western Himalayan region and the plains during the next 7 days. The other affected places include Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and West Uttar Pradesh.

Residents are advised to stay cautious and take precautionary measures to protect themselves from any rain-related incidents. Moreover, keep a close watch on IMD’s latest weather bulletin and take shelter in safe places. Avoid traveling if possible, and keep away from objects that conduct electricity.
