New BMW F450GS To launch This Year

BMW is all set to unveil the all-new production ready version of their F450GS this year. To add to the bike’s prowess, the brand is planning to equip the bike with a Semi Automated Shift Assist. According to a recent motorcyclenews.com report, the concept design of the baby GS would be equipped with a brand new 450CC parallel twin-cylinder motor with a power output of 47.3 bhp.

The report further said that BMW has been planning to provide the bike with the same prowess as that of the bigger GS bikes. To ensure such capabilities, the bike would be packed with advanced technologies and would offer several optional extras similar to the bigger capacity siblings in the GS line-up.

The bike will also be equipped with 19-inch/17-inch wheel combination, the report said. The BMW F450GS could have the option of some form of ASA technology. The system would be slightly different than the one already present on the flagship R1300 GS.

F450GS To Be Equipped With Semi-Automatic Gearbox

Since the F450GS would attract a lot of new riders, the addition of conventional gearboxes and semi-automatic machines too would make the bike more accessible for the riders. The bike has been spotted testing in India a few times, whether the optional semi-automatic gearbox be carried over to the domestic market or not is yet to be confirmed.

BMW would be using the engine to power a range of models further down the line, it’s possible that BMW might launch a naked roadster and a sportier version of the bike soon. The brand has not shown any intent to produce cruisers like the competing brands Triumph and Royal Enfield yet. The New Bike would further help BMW add more approachable models in their line up.
