Tamil Actors Srikanth, Krishna Granted Conditional Bail By Madras HC Amid Ongoing Drug Probe


Tamil actors Srikanth and Krishna have been granted conditional bail by the Madras High Court in connection with an ongoing drug case. The court, which heard their bail pleas on July 8, 2025, has directed both actors to report regularly to the investigation officer and fully cooperate with the probe until further notice.

The controversy began when Srikanth was arrested and the investigation gained momentum, which later reached Krishna. He is also accused of trying to flee to Kerala, but four special teams caught and took him into custody. During interrogation, the police deeply investigated his financial records and contacts.

He was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The case emerged after Prasad, a former AIADMK IT wing member, was arrested following a brawl at a Nungambakkam pub. During interrogation, Prasad named Srikanth as a regular customer. Another individual, Pradeep, also claimed he had seen Srikanth using drugs at multiple club parties and identified Prasad as the supplier.

The investigation took a new turn when another accused, drug supplier Prashanth, revealed that Srikanth had bought cocaine for Rs 12,000 during the shooting of the film ‘Theingarai’. Prashanth also revealed that Srikanth and Krishna had consumed drugs together during several parties in Chennai. T

Krishna’s medical tests showed no signs of drug use. He told the police that because of his heart and stomach problems, he can’t take drugs. Still, the police are looking into his money records, phone chats, and possible connection with Prasad.

Srikanth, the actor has worked in Tamil films such as Manasellam, Varnajalam, Kana Kandein, Oru Naal Kanavu, Bambara Kannale, Mercury Pookkal, East Coast Road, Poo, Sathurangam and so on. On the other hand, Krishna has worked in films such as Kazhugu, Vanavarayan Vallavarayan, Vanmam, Yatchan and others.
