Radhika Yadav was among India’s rising tennis player, she achieved a career-high ranking of 113 in the doubles category of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) at her best. In Haryana, she was ranked fifth in the women’s doubles category. But fate took a tragic turn and Radhika was shot dead by her father at their home in Gurugram Sector-57 on Thursday morning. After her death, a music video has surfaced which has been produced by Zeeshan Ahmad and released under the LLF Records label in 2024.

According to ANI, “He (Radhika Yadav’s father) has been arrested by the Police and upon questioning, he confessed to the crime…Accused Deepak is around 49 years old…In prima facie investigation it has been found that the deceased ran a Tennis academy, due to which her father was upset. He had told her several times not to run the academy. He shot her dead over this. The deceased was a national-level player…The licensed weapon used to commit the crime has been seized. Further investigation is being done…”
While PTI reported that her father was often mocked by relatives and friends for being financially dependent on Radhika’s earnings from the academy. The belittling is said to have added fuel to his increasing frustration. Also, her active presence on social media and especially her inclination towards creating Instagram reels became another point of contention. One such reel is said to have triggered an argument after her father told her to delete it.
