Pakistani Actress Humaira Missing Since Oct 2024; Police Say Body May Be Nine Months Old

The decomposed body of Humaira Asghar, a rising actress, model, and artist, was discovered in her Defence Phase VI apartment in Karachi on Tuesday, July 8, during the execution of an eviction order over unpaid rent.

In a shocking development, the death of Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar has taken a dark and tragic turn. Although her body was discovered earlier this week in her Karachi apartment, new reports confirm that she may have died nearly nine months ago, around October 2024.

According to a report by Arab News, Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed who conducted the post-mortem has confirmed that the body was in an “advanced stage of decomposition.”

Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Asad Raza added that the actress’s Call Detail Records (CDR) show her last call was made in October 2024. Neighbours also last reported seeing her around September or October of the same year.

DIG Raza stated that expired food items from 2024, “The expiry date of food and drinks found in the flat is 2024. The last messages in the actor’s phone records are also from October 2024.”

The DIG’s comments are similar to what stylist Danish Maqsood said in an interview with Geo Digital. He shared that he had messaged Asghar on October 20, but she never read it. He also noticed that her WhatsApp “last seen” was on October 7.

Adding more details, DIG South said that the last message on the actor’s phone was from an online cab driver, and the electricity in her apartment had been cut off for a long time.

Officials also revealed that electricity of Humaira’s house was also disconnected in October 2024 due to non-payment of bills. “Humaira’s body is likely nine months old. She probably died between paying her last utility bills and when her electricity was disconnected in October 2024, probably due to non-payment of the bill.”

Another official also revealed that the food in the actress’ home had also been expired for months. “The jars had rusted, and food had expired six months ago.”
