Hindu Outfit Targets KFC Over Meat Sale During Sawan, Video Goes Viral News24 –


Hindu Raksha Dal activists on Friday forcibly shut down the popular KFC restaurant over the sale of meat during the month of Sawan in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.

The activists raised slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Har Har Mahadev” and demanded that the sale of non-vegetarian food should not be allowed during the Kanwar Yatra. A video of the incident went viral on social media.

In the viral clip, the KFC employees are seen in a huddle, making several phone calls amid the protest.

Trans-Hindn DCP Nimish Patil informed that in view of the incident, Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) has been imposed in the district as the protesters have disturbed the peace, as per media reports.

Taking suo motu cognizance of this, an FIR has been registered against 10 unknown persons under section 223 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). The DCP said that the accused are being identified and the investigation is going on.

The Kanwar Yatra, which begins on June 10, attracts millions of devotees every year, most of whom carry holy water from the Ganges from Haridwar to their local Shiva temples on foot to offer it to the Shivalinga. The Uttar Pradesh government has recently come under fire for deciding that all shops along the Kanwar Yatra route must have a valid licence and the shopkeeper’s real name must be clearly displayed.
