The preparations for Asia Cup 2025 are underway and Afghanistan, Pakistan and the UAE are all set to play a T20 Tri-series which will be hosted by the Emirates Cricket Board in Sharjah. The tournament is scheduled to take place across August and early September.
Tri-Nation Series Between Pakistan, Afghanistan & UAE
The tournament will serve as a preparation ground for the Asia Cup 2025. Originally, according to the ICC’s Future Tours Programme, Pakistan were set to host Afghanistan for the three-match T20I series but the bilateral series has been replaced by a tri-nation tournament. In this, each side will face the other team twice in a round-robin format, followed by a final between the top two teams. The matches will begin at 7pm local time.

In T20I standings, Pakistan sit at the 8th position followed by Afghanistan at 9th and UAE at 14th place. Pakistan are currently playing a white-ball series against West Indies and have won the first match already. The Asia Cup 2025 will be played from September 9 to 28 in the T20 format and it will feature eight teams.
