Technical Glitch Disrupts Flights at Mumbai Airport; Check-In Systems Restored But Delays Persist News24 –

Flight operations were affected on Saturday due to a technical fault in a third-party data network at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. The glitch caused the check-in system to come to a standstill, delaying flights of several airlines, including Air India.

In view of the flight delays, various airlines have issued advisories for passengers. Air India said that although the technical problem has now been fixed, its impact may still remain on some flights.

At the same time, in response to a question asked by a passenger, the airport management (CSMIA) said that the necessary alternative measures have been implemented immediately to handle the situation, as per media reports.

Air India wrote on its X account, “A third-party data network outage had impacted check-in systems at Mumbai airport, thereby delaying flight departures of airlines, including Air India. The systems have since been restored, however, some of our flights may continue to be affected for some time as the situation normalises progressively.”

Mumbai Airport mentioned on their X handle that, ” We would like to inform you that we’re currently facing a network failure across the airport. We’ve activated contingencies and are working on resolving the issue with our core team. We’re operating in manual mode to minimize disruptions. We appreciate your patience in this regard. Team CSMIA”
