In a shocking scam, Dr. Abhineet Gupta, a dermatologist, was duped of Rs 10 lakh with false promises of securing a spot on the popular reality show Bigg Boss. Dr. Gupta has lodged an FIR at Mumbai’s Oshiwara Police Station.
During a recent press conference in Mumbai, the doctor revealed that back in 2022, an alleged miscreant named Karan Singh urged him to try out for Bigg Boss, falsely claiming to have connections with the makers. Continuing with the deception, Karan asked Abhineet for money, and he transferred Rs 10 lakh to the accused.
“He talked about giving one crore rupees, but I said that I do not have that much money. Then he went to Mumbai, and he made me talk to his colleagues on the phone. He talked about giving 60 lakh rupees and told me to pay in cash. He called me to Mumbai and arranged a meeting with Harish Shah, Senior Vice President of Endemol Company.”
While waiting for an official reply from the Bigg Boss team, Abhineet was surprised to find his name missing from the official list. When he questioned Karan about this, Karan assured him that he would be allowed to enter the show mid-season as a wild card entrant. Later on, Karan Abhineet stated that he would make Abhineet participate in the next season instead. Realizing there were no prospects of entry in that season either, Abhineet raised an alarm.
According to NDTV, the police have registered a case against the accused under Section 420 of the IPC for fraud. Abhineet further stated that he wants everyone to be aware of people like Karan so that they do not end up getting scammed as well.
