In a shocking incident, a woman was strangled to death by a 35-year-old tailor over a money dispute in Delhi’s Dabri area. The accused also tried to dump her body into a drain.
According to PTI, the victim had been missing since August 21. She was a resident of Bindapur.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said a PCR call was received at Dabri police station around 2:54 a.m. regarding a dead body. In the primary investigation, the deceased was identified as the missing woman.
Police officials examined the CCTV footage and traced the victim’s last movements. The victim was seen with the accused, identified as Saleem.
According to police, the accused had borrowed money from the victim, and an argument broke out between them over the sum. Police have registered an FIR under various sections of the BNS and formed teams to nab the accused.
The police arrested him after sustained efforts. They are also probing the possible involvement of any other person in the case.
