Pending traffic challan in the National Capital will be settled in Lok Adalat on September 13, said traffic police on Monday, adding that the people can visit to avoid legal proceedings.
Delhi traffic police said, “National Lok Adalat for settling pending Compoundable Traffic Challans and notices to be held on 13th September, 2025 (Saturday) at all Court Complexes, Delhifrom 10 am to 4 pm. Avail this opportunity to get cleared pending challans/notices,”
Lok Adalat will be held at Patiala House, Karkardooma, Rouse Avenue, Tis Hazari, Dwarka, Saket, and Rohini court complex.
Challans and notices are available for download on the Delhi Traffic Police website. Notice/Pay-Notice/ (https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in). Beginning Monday at 10 a.m., the section will be operational, with a daily cap of 60,000 challan downloads. Up until September 13, a maximum of 1,80,000 challans may be downloaded during this time frame. The vehicle’s registration certificate (RC) and the owner’s identification are required at Lok Adalat in addition to a copy of the challan or notification.
On May 10, the Delhi State Legal Services Authority and Delhi Police held their most recent Lok Adalat. Before that, on March 8, there was another Lok Adalat in which 1,53,437 challans totaling Rs 405.02 crore were resolved. The Delhi Traffic Police reported that settlements for traffic challans alone came to a total of Rs 1.7 crore.
Bypassing the drawn-out and difficult court proceedings, the Lok Adalat enables a speedy public redressal system for pending challans at a reduced cost. Seven is the maximum for private vehicles: two challans and five notifications. The maximum for commercial vehicles is two challans or notifications per vehicle.
