CP Radhakrishnan Becomes New Vice President
Maharashtra Governor and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) nominee CP Radhakrishnan has been elected as the new Vice President of India with a total of 452 votes. He defeated the INDIA bloc candidate B. Sudershan Reddy in a close contest on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The result marks a key victory for the NDA and a new chapter in Radhakrishnan’s long political career.
According to the Election Commission (EC), a total of 767 votes were polled, out of which 752 were found valid and 15 were invalid. The quota set to elect the winner was 377. The NDA’s candidate secured 452 votes, while the INDIA Bloc nominee got 300 votes.
