Honda has recently revealed the first glimpses of its highly anticipated full-size electric motorcycle, which is scheduled to be fully unveiled soon. Honda has stated that this will be an “EV Fun Concept.”
The bike was first seen as a prototype at the 2024 Milan show, and according to media reports, it has been confirmed that the bike is undergoing rigorous testing on European roads. In the upcoming months, it will be revealed as a full production-spec machine.
Honda has revealed that the EV Fun Concept will be a mid-sized naked equivalent bike with a fixed battery and the ability to charge rapidly, thanks to its automobile-grade CCS2 quick-charging compatibility.
While Honda is trying to underplay things to manage expectations, it is expected that the bike will feature a single-sided swingarm with a monoshock rear suspension, belt drive, inverted front forks with twin discs, and radial calipers. To ensure the streamlined design of the bike isn’t interrupted by the presence of a charging dock, Honda has placed it in the fuel tank. Further details of the new project will be revealed soon.
According to a report by MotorcycleNews.com, the bike has been designed by Honda design veteran Masatsugu Tanaka, who has been working on its bikes for over 20 years and most recently helped develop the CRF1100L Africa Twin and NT1100.
The report further details that Honda has been developing this bike specifically for the European market, where it’s being rigorously tested. Honda wants to emphasize daily usability, carefully refining every aspect of the model to ensure that customers get pure enjoyment from the bike, while still making it suitable for everyday use. Honda has recently launched a new Bigwing line of showrooms for their premium bikes its possible that once launched the new bike might be retailed through the Bigwing line of showrooms.
