Settle Or Waive Minor Traffic Challans At Lok Adalat On September 13 News24 –


Millions of people will get relief from the challan, as there will a lok Adalat on September 13. These special courts offer individuals a chance to settle minor traffic fines at discounted rates or, in certain instances, have them waived entirely. The goal of this initiative is to ease the backlog of pending challans for minor offenses and simplify the process for citizens to clear their dues.

Here are the steps one needs to follow to register for the process of Lok Adalat.

Registration Process For Lok Adalat Token 2025

  • Visit the NALSA (National Legal Services Authority) website.
  • Choose the option of Lok Adalat registration.
  • Fill the application form and upload the required documents.
  • After submitting the form, the token number and appointment letter will be sent to you via email or phone.
  • The appointment letter will contain your date, time and location information.

What You Should Carry?

It is mandatory to bring original documents, token number, and appointment letter on the day of the hearing. The administration advises reaching the venue at least one hour in advance.

The Lok Adalat can give exemption or complete pardon on the following minor violations:

  • Driving without seat belt
  • Driving two-wheeler without helmet
  • Violation of red light
  • Challan issued by mistake
  • Overspeeding
  • Without valid PUC certificate
  • Parking in wrong place
  • Driving without driving license
  • Without fitness certificate
  • Driving in wrong lane
  • Ignoring traffic signals
  • Driving without number plate

The following cases will not be taken up in Lok Adalat and will have to be settled in normal courts only:

Drinking and driving
Hit-and-run cases
Death due to negligence
Illegal racing or speeding
Driving by a minor
Vehicles used in criminal activities
Cases on which trial is already going on in the court
Challan issued from other states

What will be the hearing process?

  • Cases will be heard on the basis of token number.
  • The judge may review the challan and waive the entire fine or grant a discount.
  • If the case is serious or there has been a repeated violation, a fine may be imposed.
  • After the order is passed, the case will be considered closed.
