Agra-Aligarh Expressway: Good News! Travel between Agra and Aligarh is going to get much easier and faster with the upcoming four-lane expressway. The construction of the new stretch, an initiative under the Bharat Mala project, will reduce travel time to just one hour. Once operational, the Agra-Aligarh Greenfield Expressway will also serve as an alternative route for residents of Aligarh and Hathras.

Spanning 65 kilometers and costing Rs 1536.9 crore, the construction of the Agra-Aligarh Expressway is estimated to be completed soon. The first stretch, 28 km long, will connect National Highway 509 in Aligarh to Asroi village near Hathras. Besides this, the expressway will also connect Bareilly-Mathura Highway and Agra-Noida Yamuna Expressway.

According to reports, 322 hectares of land across 48 villages of Hathras will be acquired for its construction. So far, about 50% of the farmers have already been compensated. This Greenfield Expressway aims to boost regional connectivity and cut travel time significantly.

After the construction, the distance from Tajnagri to Aligarh will be just 65 km. A compensation amount of Rs 600 crore is to be given to nearly 400 farmers. The total cost of building the expressway is estimated to be approximately Rs 1536.9 crore.

A tender has already been given to KRC Infra Project Private Limited. The second phase, spanning 36.9 km, will start from Khandauli in Agra to Asroi in Hathras and will be connected to the Yamuna Expressway.
