Engineer’s Day 2025: Engineer’s Day is celebrated annually on September 15 in India to honor Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya on his birth anniversary. Born on 15 September 1861, Sir Visvesvaraya is known for his outstanding contributions in the field and is one of India’s greatest engineers. He was a visionary civil engineer, statesman, and the chief architect behind several modern infrastructure projects in India.

From humble beginnings, Sir M. Visvesvaraya rose to serve as the Diwan of Mysore and the President of the All-India Manufacturers’ Organisation. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1955. Some of his notable works include innovative flood management systems, pioneering dam construction, and irrigation etc. The theme for this year was ‘Engineering solutions for a sustainable future‘
