Delhi Police on Monday took the accused in the Dhaula Kuan BMW accident case, Gaganpreet into custody from Nulife Hospital, GTB Nagar. Finance Ministry official, Navjot Singh was killed after being hit by a BMW in Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan area on Sunday. Singh, a resident of Hari Nagar was returning home from Bangla Sahib Gurudwara with his wife. The accident occurred near Metro pillar number 57, on the stretch from Dhaula Kuan towards Raja Garden. The couple was riding a motorcycle when they were struck by a car.
Who was Navjot Singh?
Navjot Singh (52), worked as Deputy Secretary in the Bilateral Cooperation (BC) division of Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. He lived in Hari Nagar area of the national capital with his wife and son, Navnoor Singh. He had represented India at the United Nations Peace events, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and in three countries; China, Korea and Japan at various international engagements, according to his sister-in-law, Bitty Singh. He was also involved in the bullet train projects in India. Navjot was everyone’s favourite in the family.
“He was everyone’s favourite. Not even one person used to dislike him… Navjot’s son has just completed his graduation and is working in Gurugram. His wife’s surgery is going on. I just want to say that we should drive carefully. An entire family has been destroyed,” Bitty told ANI.

Navjot’s son Alleges multiple irregularities
Meanwhile, Navjot’s son, Navnoor, has alleged multiple irregularities. “There are many superspeciality hospitals near Dhaula Kuan and AIIMS too, if they had been sent there, he could have been saved,” he said while speaking to ANI.
Navnoor informed that he had just returned from a friend’s house when he received a text from his mother saying that she was going to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. He added that she did not pick up his call, and later, a family friend told him about the fatal accident. He said, “I got a call from a family friend who told me about the accident and that my parents are admitted to Nulife Hospital in GTB Nagar. The accident happened around 1 or 1.30 pm, a girl driving a BMW hit my parents’ motorcycle.”
