Bihar: Students at Nalanda Engineering College, Chandi, on Wednesday, staged a protest after a girl student died after falling off a terrace. She was immediately rushed in an ambulance to VHC Chandi, where the doctors declared her dead. The deceased’s body has been sent for a postmortem examination. Meanwhile, a police complaint was filed after her family members arrived at the spot.
Hilsa SDM Amit Kumar Pate told the media that a large number of students gathered to protest the girl’s death. They were sent to hostels following an explanation of the situation. “People are reporting that the principal failed to take prompt action after the hour had passed, leading to the student’s death. An investigation is ongoing on all angles. If negligence is identified, appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the regulations,” SDM Kumar added. The circumstances that led to her death, however, remain unclear. It is yet to be ascertained whether it was an accident or a suicide.
