India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has recently responded to a remark made by former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif regarding his workload and fitness. According to Kaif, Bumrah might be deliberately avoiding bowling in death overs to reduce the risk of injury.
He further wrote: “Bumrah under Rohit would generally bowl overs 1, 13, 17, 19. Under Surya, in Asia cup, he bowled a three-overs spell at the start. To avoid injury, Bumrah these days, prefers to bowl while his body is warmed up. 1 over of Bumrah in the remaining 14 overs is a huge relief for batters, against stronger teams at World Cup, this could hurt india.”
But this did not sit well with Bumrah and he subtly addressed the claim mentioning it as “inaccurate”
Bumrah’s response – “Inaccurate before inaccurate again” he replied to Mohammad Kaif on X.

Bumrah has been named in India’s squad for two-match Test series against West Indies which will be starting from October 2. The BCCI chief selector opined that the fast bowler is fully available for both the matches which also put a rest to all the speculations over his fitness. The series will be held at two ones, the first Test will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the second Test will be held in Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
