5-Year-Old Boy Mauled to Death by Leopard News24 –


A forest official said a 5-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard in Maharashtra’s Gondia district.

According to PTI, the incident took place in Sanjaynagar village of Arjuni Morgaon tehsil.

The official further said that the deceased, identified as Ansh Prakash Mandal, had gone along with his grandmother on September 25 when he was dragged away by the leopard.

The boy was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival, the official said.

The incident drew the ire of villagers, who staged a protest and blocked the road. Later, forest officials rushed to the spot and placated them.

Six workers killed, six injured in roof collapse at steel plant in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur

In a separate incident, six workers were killed and six others were injured after the roof of a structure collapsed at a private steel plant in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur on Friday, police said.

According to officials, the incident occurred at the Siltara industrial area.

Raipur SP Lal Umed Singh told ANI that police and officials rushed to the spot after receiving information about workers trapped under the debris.

“We received information that some people were trapped after a roof collapsed near the Godavari ispat… The police and other officials arrived at the scene, and the rescue operation commenced. Six bodies were recovered, and six injured people have been rescued so far,” he said, adding that rescue operations were ongoing.
