Heavy rain, gusty winds to continue over multiple states till October 2 – check forecast News24 –


IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain to continue over parts of Maharashtra till October 5, 2025. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has retreated further from parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, entire Rajasthan, and the Western Himalayan Region. The line of withdrawal now passes through Veraval, Bharuch, Ujjain, Jhansi, and Shahjahanpur.

Extremely heavy showers accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and thunderstorms are set to lash multiple districts. Here’s a detailed weather forecast for the next few days.

East & Central India: Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms has been predicted over Vidarbha, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha on September 27 and October 2. Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh will witness showers on the 30th, while East Madhya Pradesh will experience showers today and from September 27 to October 2. The other affected regions, likely to see light showers until October 2, are West Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim.

IMD has also predicted thunderstorms and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-50 kmph) over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during the next 5 days.

West India: The IMD has forecast Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds over Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, during 27th September-2nd October; Marathawada during 76th -29th; Gujarat region during 27th-30th; Saurashtra & Kutch during 28th-30th September with very heavy rainfall over Marathawada on 27th, 28th and Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa on September 27th and 29th.

Northeast India: Rain is set to lash Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh till October 2, 2025.

South Peninsular India: Southern states of Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Interior Karnataka, and Coastal Karnataka on September 27 and 28. Strong surface winds, blowing at a speed of 40-50 kmph, are very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Tamil Nadu, during the next 5 days.
