UPL T20 2025: The Uttarakhand Premier League 2025 is officially underway, and it kicked off in style at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. In the season opener, Dehradun Warriors got their campaign off to a winning start, defeating USN by 23 runs in a well-contested match.

Warriors Set a Competitive Total of 169

Batting first, the Dehradun Warriors posted a solid total of 169/9 in 20 overs. Although the innings began on a slow note, middle-order contributions gave the team the momentum it needed.

  • Sagar Rawat top-scored with a composed 38 runs
  • Harshit added a quickfire 28 off 16 balls
  • Sanskar chipped in with 28 off 17 balls
  • Mayank played a handy finishing role, staying unbeaten on 17 off 10

USN’s bowling attack had its moments. Rajan was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets for just 18 runs in his full quota of four overs. Rahul and Abhishek supported well, picking up 2 wickets each.

USN Fall Short Despite Late Flourish

In response, USN couldn’t quite chase down the target and finished with 146/6 in 20 overs. Their innings never fully gained momentum, though there were some bright spots.

Yuvraj Chaudhary Leads by Example

While Dehradun Warriors skipper Yuvraj Chaudhary didn’t make a big impact with the bat, he delivered where it mattered most – with the ball. Leading from the front, he bowled a tight spell, finishing with 2 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs.

A Perfect Start for Dehradun Warriors

With a 23-run win in their opening match, Dehradun Warriors have made a strong statement in Season 2 of the UPL. Their balanced team effort – solid batting contributions, tight bowling, and sharp captaincy, gives them good momentum early in the tournament.
