Providing major relief to passengers, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched an electric bus service between Noida and Dehradun. This also marks a significant step towards shifting from CNG to electric vehicles. This new service is the first electric intercity bus connection on this route, as no electric bus had previously operated here.

With the launch of this service, people will have a convenient and environmentally friendly transportation option. Minister Singh, while flagging off the buses, urged commuters to adopt public transport for a cleaner commute. The electric buses will operate from Pari Chowk in Greater Noida to Dehradun via Haridwar, covering the 300-km distance in around five hours, easing travel experience of commuters. Initially, four buses will run on this route with plans to add five more in the coming days. The electric bus service is being operated by Ezy Go Bus.

Commuters can save travel time by boarding the bus from Noida instead of Delhi. This will largely benefit the residents of Noida. Buses will be available during morning and evening hours, with ticket prices ranging from Rs 400 to Rs 500. The company also plans to introduce electric buses on the Noida-Agra route soon. Tickets can be booked through the Ezy Go website or via the Red Bus app.

Hindustan Times quoted Noida Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Siyaram Verma who stated that these buses run on electricity instead of diesel or petrol and produce zero emissions, cutting harmful exhaust and improving urban air quality. Through this, the government is promoting e-vehicles and also giving subsidies, he added.
