Citroen C3 Aircross Scores 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating
Citroën India has achieved a significant safety milestone with the all-new Aircross SUV earning a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection in the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). The SUV scored 27.05 out of 33 points for adult safety and 40 out of 49 points for child occupant protection, leading to a 4-star rating for child safety.
This makes the Aircross the 22nd car to be awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP. However, it is also one of the vehicles with the lowest adult safety score among all 5-star-rated cars under the program.
Crash Safety Assessment
In Bharat NCAP’s comprehensive report, the Citroën Aircross’s structure and footwell area were rated as stable and capable of withstanding further loadings. The protection levels for adult occupants were rated as good to adequate across all body regions in both frontal and side impact tests.
The SUV also performed well in the side pole test, providing full head protection via curtain airbags.
Child Occupant Safety
For child occupant protection, the Aircross offered full protection to both 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies when secured in rearward-facing child seats using ISOFIX anchorages and support legs. The model is also equipped with i-Size anchorages as standard, ensuring easier and safer installation of child seats.

The Citroën Aircross is equipped with over 40 active and passive safety features, including:

- Hill-hold assist
- All-seat 3-point seatbelts with reminders

It also features a body structure made of High Strength Steel (HSS), Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) to enhance crash energy absorption and minimize cabin intrusion.
For comfort and convenience, the SUV offers LED projector headlamps, automatic air-conditioning, power-folding ORVMs, a soft-touch dashboard, rear AC vents, and repositioned power window switches for improved ergonomics.
