History And Story Of Madhmaheshmar

This place, which houses holy temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, has deep historical and cultural significance. Here’s how the story goes! After the Mahabharata, the Pandavas wanted to seek the reverence of Lord Shiva to liberate them from their sins. To illude them, Lord Shiva disguises himself as a bull. But Bhima, the second son of Kunti, recognised him and prayed relentlessly.

To get away from him, Lord Shiva divided his body into five parts. The sites where these parts appeared are known as the Panch Kedar. The middle torso is believed to have appeared in Madhyamaheshwar. However, it is not easy to reach the temple.
