‘Archery Is Their Cricket’ Legendary Brady Ellison reveals the secret behind South Korea’s Olympic domination News24 –

American archery legend Brady Ellison has heaped praise on South Korea’s unmatched dominance in the sport, saying their success comes from a professional system where archery is treated like a major sport – just like cricket in India.

Speaking after the Paris 2024 Olympics, Ellison highlighted how Korea’s structured and well-supported archery ecosystem plays a huge role in their continued success on the world stage.

“In Korea, archery is like cricket in India. It’s big, professional, and backed strongly and that’s what sets them apart,” Ellison said.

South Korea once again proved their supremacy at the 2024 Games. Their women’s team won a record 10th straight gold medal, continuing their unbeaten run in the event since it was introduced at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

In the men’s category, Kim Woo-jin created history by winning his fifth Olympic gold medal, making him the most decorated archer in Olympic history.

Meanwhile, India is still chasing its first Olympic medal in archery, despite having strong talent and promise over the years. Ellison’s comments underline the importance of building a solid sporting system – something India could take inspiration from to turn potential into podium finishes.
