Haryana Man Murders Girlfriend Over Cheating Suspicion, Say Cops News24 –

Haryana police said on Thursday that a 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend in her rented accommodation in south Delhi, suspecting her of infidelity.

The accused, Himanshu of Hansi and a known history-sheeter, was arrested on Wednesday night after fleeing from the city, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (South) Ankit Chauhan.

He was in a relationship with Sakshi, who had been living in Kotla Mubarakpur area for the past year and was employed at a private company in Okhla, according to the police. The two had met face to face in Rajasthan before they became romantically involved with each other.

Preliminary investigation confirmed that Himanshu went to Sakshi’s house on Tuesday evening, and the two got into an argument about him doubting that she was already in a relationship with another man.

“During the argument Himanshu attacked her with a kitchen knife multiple times and fled the scene after locking the room from outside,” the DCP said.

The event was reported at approximately 9:19 p.m., once a PCR call was made to police about a dispute in the building and blood on the stairs. The caller explained that his parents, who reside in the building, heard some noise coming from the tenant’s room, police said.

“A team was dispatched to the spot and upon reaching they found the door of a room on the first-floor locked from the outside. The lock was broken and the team found a woman was found lying in a pool of blood inside the room,” an officer stated.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival (DOA). Police stated there were injuries to the woman’s face and neck, indicating she was attacked with a weapon with a sharp edge.

Police eventually identified her as Sakshi from Hauz Khas in Delhi.

Police were able to apprehend an accused in the murder based on over 250 CCTV recordings throughout the area and through technical and electronic investigation. Police have also been registering a murder case to continue the investigation further forward.
