Bengal BJP Chief Samik Bhattacharya Hospitalized, Undergoing Multiple Tests

Kolkata: Samik Bhattacharya, the West Bengal BJP president, was brought to a private hospital in Kolkata this morning due to a persistent fever. According to party insiders, Bhattacharya has been running a high temperature for several days.

However, despite his condition, he continued to attend party events. The leader was admitted to a hospital near the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass after experiencing weakness this morning, according to individuals close to him.

His condition is being monitored by doctors, who have reportedly encouraged him to relax. According to BJP officials, Bhattacharya had been sick for almost a week. Despite taking prescribed medication, the patient’s fever persisted.

A top BJP leader stated, “He did not want to cancel his political engagements and continued to attend meetings and events over the last few days.” He also mentioned that his condition deteriorated early today, necessitating an urgent hospitalization.

In order to evaluate the situation in regions devastated by landslides and intense rain, Bhattacharya traveled to North Bengal last week. During his visits to disaster-affected areas, he spoke with locals and gave local BJP leaders instructions to provide the impacted population with all the assistance available.

In addition to criticizing the state government during his visit, Bhattacharya said that the administration was indifferent to relief efforts. He has also accused the ruling party of being behind the recent attacks on MLA Shankar Ghosh and BJP MP Khagen Murmu.
