New 25 km Road from Greater Noida West to Jewar Airport to Cut Travel Time; Commuters from Noida and Ghaziabad to Benefit News24 –
Greater Noida News: In order to improve connectivity between Ghaziabad, Greater Noida West, and the Noida International Airport (NIA), the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has approved Rs 1,700 crore for the construction of a new 25 km road. The proposed road will link Greater Noida West’s 130-metre-wide road directly to the airport, which is part of the region’s expanding aviation hub.
About the planned 25 km Road, set to benefit Ghaziabad, Noida Commuters
The 130-metre-wide road will start near Sirsa in Greater Noida, pass through Alauda village and upcoming YEIDA sectors 16, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 7, and 8, and then run along the airport’s cargo and aviation hub to reach the Jewar Airport. This new road will improve connectivity by cutting travel time and increasing accessibility to the airport. Commuters from Greater Noida, Greater Noida West, Ghaziabad and Noida will be particularly benefitted with the reduced travel time to reach the Jewar airport.
Moreover, this would be the first road connectivity that will touch the airport from opposite side (East). HT quoted YEIDA’s chief executive officer RK Singh, who stated that this project will boost connectivity from Ghaziabad and Greater Noida West to Noida International airport. He also confirmed the amount that the authority will be spending to construct this road.
YEIDA CEO On The New Project
“The authority will spend Rs 1,700 crore on this new road project that will boost connectivity from Ghaziabad and Greater Noida West to Noida International airport. The authority will spend Rs 1,400 crore in buying the land required for the road project that will pass through many villages starting from Sirsa, Aleda, and Thora among others before touching the airport,” Singh stated.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is expected to be roped in for this project. The road alignment has been almost finalised, and work on land acquisition is expected to begin soon.
