UP News Updates: Alcohol lovers in Buland Shahr, Uttar Pradesh, have destroyed all previous sales records during the festive Diwali season. Between October 19 and October 24, alcohol addicts in the district spent Rs 10.47 crore on alcohol in just six days. Additionally, it was a huge success for the Excise Department, demonstrating how enthusiastically and jam-packed the area was during Diwali.
Liquor Sales Skyrocketed During Diwali
The Excise Department has reported that sales of alcoholic beverages have skyrocketed during these six days of the holiday season. Buland Shahr liquor enthusiasts purchased whiskey in every category, but as is customary, country-made liquor accounted for the majority of this record sale. The data shows that the district’s most popular country-made liquor is affordable and easily accessible, as evidenced by the record amount of Rs 5 crore 19 lakhs that the liquor enthusiasts consumed. However, the English liquor drinkers also left no stone unturned.
10.47 Crore in Just 6 Days
The amount of English liquor drunk by the residents of Buland Shahr during this time was Rs 3.47 crore. Despite the slow start, beer lovers did not fall behind and spent Rs 1.79 crore. Although officials in the excise department said that bumper sales were anticipated during the festive season, the department was totally stunned by the Rs 10.47 crore in sales in just six days. This data makes it abundantly evident that the district’s residents purchased and drank alcohol in order to double the number of Diwali festivities. When compared to the sales during the Diwali season in previous years, this is a new record.
Bottle Worth Rs. 24,000 Opened Every Minute
Diwali has demonstrated the strength of the liquor drinking tendency in Buland Shahr. An average of Rs 1.74 crore worth of liquor was sold in the district every day between October 19 and 24, according to data from the Excise Department. When considering this sale in the context of working twelve hours a day, the district’s residents were consuming liquor valued at an average of 14 lakh fifty thousand rupees every hour. Even more interesting is the fact that, during this time, liquor bottles valued at around Rs 24,166 were opened every minute. These figures clearly demonstrate how quickly Buland Shahr’s excise revenue increases during the festive season.

Country-made liquor alone contributed Rs 5.19 crore of the 10.47 crore total sales, which broke all previous records. This represents roughly 49.5% of the total sales. Despite the rising popularity of beer (1.79 crore) and English liquor (3.47 crore), the district’s average citizen still prefers easily accessible and reasonably priced country-made liquor. In addition to being the highest-earning country liquor sale, this record also demonstrated that Buland Shahr’s Desi community has the greatest ties when it comes to celebration.
