IPL 2026: Sanju Samson might be removed from captaincy if he stays with Rajasthan Royals: Report News24 –

The IPL 2026 mini-auction is nearing and the speculation around player retentions has also intensified. BCCI is yet to announce the official deadline for the retention list but the reports highlight that the auction for IPL 2026 is likely to take place mid-December.

One player who has gathered huge attention is Sanju Samson, largely due to his uncertain future with Rajasthan Royals. According to a report by Cricbuzz it has been reported that Samson expressed his desire to part ways with the franchise. Further the report stated that the wicket-keeper batter will either released or traded.

Now a new report by MoneyControl has emerged which states that CSK officials have dismissed all the speculations of Samson’s trade to CSK. The same report also stated that if Samson continues to stay with Rajasthan Royals then he might not continue as captain.

Emerging all-rounder Riyan Parag captained the side in absence of Samson last season and now he is seen as the strong contender for the leadership role with Yashasvi Jaiswal is also a potential candidate under consideration.
