Passenger train collides with goods train near Bilaspur; two dead, many injured News24 –

Chhattisgarh: A major train accident took place near Lalkhadan in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district on Tuesday. Two people are reportedly feared dead in the incident, while several are injured after a passenger train collided head-on with a goods train. According to initial reports, a MEMU train rammed into a freight train near the Jairamnagar station.

Videos from the accident spot showed the Korba passenger train’s first coach mounted on the goods train due to the collision. Locals were seen gathered near the site while authorities continued the rescue operations. The death toll is likely to rise. The passenger train was en route from Korba to Bilaspur. Efforts are underway to assist the injured passenger and assess the damage caused due to the collision.
