Meet ‘Chhote Sarkar’ of Bihar, who keeps an elephant as pet and owns crores of property with multiple criminal charges News24 –

JDU Mokama candidate and former MLA Anant Kumar Singh (58), popularly known as ‘Chhote Sarkar‘, is a shady character mostly seen in white clothes and black sunglasses. His controversial and infamous personality has often been the talk of the town. Earlier on Saturday, he was back in the limelight ahead of the Bihar assembly elections 2025, after being named the prime suspect behind the death of Jan Suraaj supporter, Dularchand Yadav.

The Mokama Bahubali Anant Singh

Singh, a notorious political figure for many, is contesting the Bihar polls from his bastion, Mokama. He was elected as the town’s MLA four times – in 2005 and 2010 as a JD(U) candidate, as an Independent candidate in 2015, and as a Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate in 2020. After being disqualified in 2022, his wife contested and won the bypoll for the seat on an RJD ticket. Singh is now fighting as a JD(U) candidate against Bahubali Suraj Bhan Singh’s wife, RJD’s Veena Devi.

A Comic Character With Multiple Crime Charges

Singh enjoys a near-cult status online, with his off-the-cuff statements becoming the material for reels and memes. The parties kept changing, but Singh has represented his bastion for the past two decades. Social media memes may seem amusing, portraying him as a comic character, but the list of crimes against him is not really funny. Just when the memes had made us forget, he was arrested in connection with a murder case.

Crimes, Assets Of The Pet Elephant Owner

According to the nomination papers, Singh has 28 ongoing cases of serious offences against him, including murder, criminal conspiracy, assault, kidnapping, theft, and more. His election affidavit states that he owns movable assets worth Rs 13 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 37.88 crore. Meanwhile, his wife Neelam Devi’s assets add up to Rs 62.72 crore. He enjoys a luxurious lifestyle and owns high-end cars, such as a Toyota Land Cruiser and a Toyota Fortuner SUV. Interestingly, he allegedly keeps an elephant, a horse, and cattle as pets.
