Harmanpreet Kaur to get wax statue beside India’s cricket legends after World Cup win News24 –

Harmanpreet Kaur’s World Cup win is all set to get a new home – outside the cricket field and onto the walls of a historic fort. The captain of the Indian team, which won its first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup in 2025, will soon have a life-size wax statue installed at Jaipur’s famous Nahargarh Fort. Jaipur Wax Museum, situated inside the breathtakingly beautiful Sheesh Mahal, has announced that her figure will be unveiled on March 8, 2026 – International Women’s Day.

The latest installation is being hailed as both a salute to India’s pathbreaking victory in the World Cup and as a tribute to the empowerment of women in sports. According to the museum founder, Anup Srivastava, the decision is not just about celebrating a sporting feat, but about acknowledging Harmanpreet as an icon of courage, discipline, and leadership-a reflection of how Indian women are rewriting the definition of excellence on global platforms.

Once unveiled, Harmanpreet will become the second Indian cricket captain at the museum, joining MS Dhoni, who led the men’s team to a World Cup title. Her statue will be among those of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, two of the key crowd-pullers in the museum. This addition strengthens the museum’s ongoing effort to highlight remarkable women from walks of life. The current gallery already has inspirational figures like Kalpana Chawla, Saina Nehwal, Mother Teresa, Rajmata Gayatri Devi, and Hadi Rani all of whom broke barriers and inspired generations.

Work for Harmanpreet’s wax figure has already begun, officials confirmed. The artists will base the sculpture on her 2025 World Cup appearance, focusing on her distinctive stance, expressions, and game-day intensity. Advanced sculpting techniques are being used to achieve a lifelike resemblance that captures her spirit on the field. The Jaipur Wax Museum currently boasts about 45 wax figures, which range from royalty to national icons to modern-day achievers. It is today one of the most-visited places in the city. Nestled within the glittering Sheesh Mahal, with over 2.5 million pieces of glass embedded, the museum has blended art, history, and storytelling. When Harmanpreet’s statue is unveiled, it will be more than a photo opportunity; it will stand as a permanent reminder of how India’s 2025 World Cup victory reshaped the nation’s view of women’s cricket and inspired young girls to dream beyond the boundaries of possibility.
