Delhi Jal Board employee found dead in bathroom with stab wound on neck- Police probe on News24 –


A shocking incident took place in Delhi’s Rohini area on November 3rd. Upon investigation by the local police, the bloodied body of 59-year-old Suresh Kumar Rathi was found in the bathroom of a flat in Sector 24, Pocket 16. The deceased had a deep stab wound on the right side of his neck. The police have registered a case of murder and launched an investigation into the matter.

The Police Control Room (PCR) received a call around 3:30 P.M. Police from the Begampur Police Station immediately arrived at the scene and found the man’s body lying in a pool of blood in the bathroom on the first floor of the flat.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh Kumar Rathi, a Delhi Jal Board employee. His son, Ankur Rathi, was the one who called the PCR. Ankur explained that his father hadn’t been home for two days and was not answering his phone. Concerned, he went to the flat, which was centrally locked from the outside. He brought the key from home and opened the lock, only to be stunned by the horrific scene.

The police have detailed that Suresh Rathi’s permanent residence was in Pocket 16, Sector 24, Rohini, but he used to visit this flat occasionally.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohini Rajeev Ranjan Tol told TOI that the victim had a deep stab wound on the right side of his neck. His body was taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

He also added that forensic and science laboratory (FSl_ teams were called to the scene to conduct an inspection and collect evidence.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that he had not returned home for the past two days and was not answering his calls. His son later went to the flat, which was found locked the officer added.

It was his son who managed to open the door with a spare key and found his father lying dead inside. Suresh is survived by his wife Anita Rathi and their Son Ankur. A case under Section 103 (1) (murder) of the Bahrtiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered, and further investigation is underway to determine the sequence of events and identify the murderer.
