Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Expressway to Cut Journey Time in Maharashtra News24 –

The Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Expressway continues to make steady progress to streamline travel between two major destinations. Currently, the journey takes around 8 to 10 hours to complete. However, once completed, the greenfield expressway will cut down travel time to just 3 hours.

Three-Phase Construction From Pune to Sambhajinagar

The expressway will be constructed in three phases:

First phase: Construction of a flyover from Pune to Shirur is already underway. This section will improve traffic flow on the busy Pune–Ahmednagar Highway.

Second and Third Phases: Both phases will cover the new Greenfield stretch extending from Shirur to Sambhajinagar, with bypasses built around towns and linking industrial areas.

The Game-Changer Expressway

According to reports, the tender process for the second phase has commenced, and bids are expected to be invited at the beginning of next year. The game-changing project will save travelers’ time, besides boosting trade, tourism, and employment opportunities in regions, including Beed and Marathwada.

Additionally, the upcoming Pune–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Expressway will strengthen connectivity across Western and Central Maharashtra. It will also help ease heavy congestion on existing highways and provide smoother access to high-speed corridors.
