J&K Police thwart major terror plot, Delhi blast linked to busted Jaish module News24 –

News24 Exclusive: A car bomb explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station has killed at least eight people and injured over twenty more, in what authorities suspect was a deadly suicide attack orchestrated by a fugitive terrorist linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH). The incident comes just hours after Jammu and Kashmir Police, in a coordinated crackdown with agencies across several states, unraveled a vast terror module and recovered nearly 2,900 kg of explosive material in Faridabad, Haryana, averting what officials believe could have been one of the deadliest attacks in the NCR region.

Top police sources told News24, the suspected suicide bomber—could be the terrorist on the run since a recent raid in Haryana and detonated the explosive-laden i20 car near a traffic jam outside Red Fort Metro Station at approximately 6:52 pm. The explosion triggered a massive fire, engulfing several nearby vehicles, and immediately placed the capital city on high alert.

The devastating attack closely followed major breakthroughs by Jammu and Kashmir Police and their counterparts in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. In the days leading up to the blast, investigators traced a terror plot that had started with two Jaish-e-Mohammad posters appearing in Srinagar. Further investigation led to the arrest of key operatives—including professionals and students implicated in a “white-collar” terror ecosystem—and the seizure of a staggering cache of explosives and arms, including an AK-56 rifle, AK Krinkov rifle, Beretta and Chinese Star pistols, circuits, and timers.

Police sources told News24 the terror module was linked to handlers based in Pakistan, using encrypted online channels for indoctrination, financing, and logistical support. Arrests included individuals from Kashmir, Haryana, and UP, including three doctors, with further searches and investigations ongoing in multiple districts across North India.

Home Minister Amit Shah and top police officials are reportedly monitoring the situation closely. Sources told News24 that the DGP of Jammu & Kashmir Police, Nalin Prabhat, personally oversaw the sensitive operation, holding multiple briefings to ensure speedy arrests and avert a larger catastrophe. The recovered explosive material and evidence have provided crucial leads, helping to prevent what police believe could have been a coordinated, mass-casualty attack in the national capital or adjacent areas.

Police operations are ongoing, with multiple raids and interrogations underway to track down any other potential members of the busted module. Authorities are also working to confirm whether the suicide bomber responsible for the Delhi blast was among those being pursued in the crackdown related to busted module.
