Delhi Blast: A deadly blast near Delhi’s iconic Red Fort on Monday, November 10, claimed 10 lives and left several injured. The tragic incident has caused widespread shock in the area, with security heightened in several parts of the country. Mumbai, Ahmedabad, IGI airport have been placed on high alert. Authorities have sounded a high alert in the national capital region and other states, including Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, Punjab, and Haryana. Security agencies are present at the scene to investigate the blast cite as the city grapples with the aftermath of the explosion.

At 6:52 pm, a slow-moving vehicle reportedly exploded near a red light. The blast occurred in a Hyundai i-20 sports car near the Red Fort Metro Station and nearby vehicles were also damaged. Three passengers were inside the vehicle at the time. Multiple people were taken to LNJP Hospital following the blast.

6:55 pm: Fire tenders received the call at 6:55 pm, and the fire was brought under control by 7:29 pm. A team from the Delhi Police Special Cell also arrived at the blast site. Teams from the NSG, NIA, and the forensic department rushed to the Red Fort region as well.

By 9:23 pm, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the site to assess the situation, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences to the families of the victims at 9:42 pm.

Fresh details on the incident are: Delhi Police has obtained CCTV footage showing the suspect’s car entering and exiting the parking area. According to the Delhi Police, the footage indicates that the suspect was alone at the time. Delhi Police has also registered a case in connection with the blast under various Sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

“Investigators are now tracing the route towards Daryaganj, while more than 100 CCTV clips, including footage from nearby toll plazas, are being examined to establish the complete movement of the vehicle,” ANI reported quoting official sources.

“A case has been registered under sections 16, 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and various sections of the Explosives Act and the BNS at the Kotwali Police Station,” Delhi Police said.

Earlier, speaking on the blast, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that a blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort in Delhi at 7 pm on Monday, and the explosion injured some pedestrians and damaged some vehicles.
