Investigation at the site of the deadly explosion that shook Delhi yesterday has intensified, with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) preparing to analyze samples to determine the exact nature of the blast that led to the death of ten people.

FSL officer Mohammad Wahid confirmed to reporters that samples from the scene have been collected and will be examined further for any clues regarding the explosion. “The samples will be taken to the laboratory, and only after that can we make any confirmation… Everything will be known after the examination,” Wahid stated.

The explosion occurred around 7 p.m. on Monday in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The blast injured several bystanders and also damaged multiple vehicles.

Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed that teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Special Branch reached the site within ten minutes of receiving the information. The investigation now involves the National Security Guard (NSG), the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Delhi Police, and the FSL.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, accompanied by Cabinet colleague Ashish Sood, visited Lok Nayak Hospital to meet the injured victims and review their treatment. In a post on X, the Chief Minister said:

“I appeal to all Delhi residents to avoid rumours and maintain peace. Please rely only on official information issued by the police and administration.”
