Which region/states will close the schools on November 13?

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in many areas has reached the ‘very poor’ level yesterday and the ‘severe’ level today. This is considered to be very serious, as it can cause serious breathing and respiratory problems for people.

School holiday tomorrow, November 13: Delhi-NCR schools have switched to Hybrid Mode under GRAP-III restrictions, closing the schools from yesterday. Outdoor Activity Suspended

School holiday tomorrow, November 13: Most schools in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad have suspended outdoor activities due to these health risks. Reports also indicate that school assemblies have been cancelled to limit students’ exposure to toxic air, and air purifiers have been installed across school premises. What is GRAP?

School holiday tomorrow, November 13: GRAP is a multi-step plan designed to fight air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region. It includes specific measures and rules that must be followed. In winter, GRAP restrictions are applied based on air quality, which is divided into four stages:

  • Stage I (Poor, AQI 201-300)
  • Stage II (Very Poor, AQI 301-400)
  • Stage III (Severe, AQI 401-450)
  • Stage IV (Severe Plus, AQI above 450)

Will Schools Be Closed in Bihar?

School holiday tomorrow, November 13: Schools in 122 assembly seats where the second phase was held were shut on November 11. However, these 20 districts will be reopened yesterday with regular classes. The districts voted in the second phase included East Champaran, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Arwal, Kaimur, and Rohtas.

All the schools in this region have resumed classes. Schools in Bihar may be shut on November 13 and 14, related to the Assembly Election counting process and preparations. Many schools are being used as polling stations or for election staff. Closing schools temporarily helps the elections run smoothly and keeps everyone safe. Parents and students are requested to check with their respective schools on this, as there are no notifications on closure as of now.

What about Telangana? Will schools be closed Tomorrow?

  • 14 November 2025 – Children’s Day (Bal Diwas). Not a holiday, as Children’s Day (November 14) is not a public holiday in India. It is celebrated in schools across the country with programmes. It is the birthday of India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. The chance of regular classes is minimal.
  • 15 November 2025 – Jharkhand Foundation Day. Schools will remain closed in Jharkhand. Jharkhand was formed on November 15, 2000. Jharkhand became India’s 28th state under the Bihar Reorganisation Act. The day is also the birthday of Birsa Munda, a tribal freedom fighter. People across Jharkhand celebrate it with pride and enthusiasm. Schools and government offices in the state stay closed.
  • 24 November 2025 – Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Schools will be closed in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, and a few other northern states. Shaheedi Diwas on November 24 honours Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, who gave his life to protect religious freedom. The day is marked with prayers, kirtan singing, and remembrance ceremonies in Gurudwaras.
