Following a spectacular year, during which WWE rolled out two extra premium live events after all the established ones and did a great job of delivering the latter, the company is ready to hold its last main roster PLE of 2025: Survivor Series: WarGames.
The 39th edition of Survivor Series is set for Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Petco Park in San Diego, California. The event will have all the stars from the two brands, Raw and SmackDown, and together with that, the two WarGames matches are also on the cards.
How a WarGames Match Works
The WarGames match is WWE’s most intense and chaotic stipulation that has gained the reputation of being the most dramatic and continuous action. The fight is held in the center of two rings that are next to each other and surrounded by a huge cage.
Each team picks one member to come in first and after a certain time, the new players come in one by one, giving one team a short-lived advantage. The match does not really start until all the wrestlers are in the cage. They will be won through pinfall or submission, thus very important teamwork, strategy, and endurance.
Complete Breakdown Of The WarGames Match Rules
1. Two squads are in a contest, normally with four or five wrestlers for each faction.
2. Each squad has a leader who picks the wrestlers and determines the first match.
3. The event occurs in a huge steel cage that protects the two adjacent rings.
4. One fighter from each squad kicks off the event and struggles for the first five minutes.
5. When the five-minute mark strikes, the faction that has the “advantage” brings in their next wrestler, thus creating a temporary numerical advantage.
6. The advantage is determined either by a coin flip or by a qualifying battle held during the weekly WWE shows.
7. After two minutes, the opposing team counters by sending one of their own, thus the number of wrestlers is leveled again.
8. The entrances go on one at a time, with the team holding the advantage always coming in first, until all the wrestlers from both teams are in the cage.
9. The moment everyone’s in, the “Match Beyond” starts, which means full chaos with no limit and no restrictions.
10. The fight can’t be put to an end until the whole lot of wrestlers have come in.
11. The only way to gain the victory is through pinfall or submission.
